I wrestled with whether or not I should put recipes for alcoholic drinks on this site, but decided to add the following recipes as they contain fresh Fruit instead of syrups and sodas which only add to the toxins in your system. Let's face it, sometimes you want to serve something special at a party or backyard barbecue and a non-alcoholic Fruit punch just won't do it. I've used the amounts of liquor that would normally be served, but feel free to cut back on the liquor and still experience the Fruity taste with the edge that the liquor and liqueurs add.
Thank you to Metropolitan Home for the inspiration for these recipes.
In a saucepan over medium heat, warm 3/4 cup pear brandy (preferably Bonny Doon or Clear Creek Poire Williams) with 2-inch piece of ginger, peeled and sliced very thin. Refrigerate until cold.
Mix
Garnish (optional) with 2 pears, cored and sliced thinly, drizzled with fresh lemon juice, rinds from 2 lemons cut into long strips.
Mix together
Refrigerate until cold. Chill 1 cup fresh blackberries, 1 cup fresh raspberries.
Crush 6 cups of ice. Place 1/2 cup crushed ice in each glass. Pour liquid 1-2 inches above the ice; garnish with berries. Serve with a straw and a spoon.
This is extra good when you use Arrowhead Fruit-flavored mineral water, try peach, lemon, lime, orange, or cherry.
Mix
Stir in 2 peaches, thinly sliced and chilled (optional)
